A dramatic coastal house that appears
to leap off the rocky cliff at Timber Cove, Sonoma County. Indigenous
materials of rough-sawn redwood, native stone and sod roofing combine to
integrate the building with the rugged setting. The house is dug deep
into the ground to anchor it solidly with concrete caissons. The
interior is rustic, featuring massive timber beams and stone columns. |
